Homeless Nights, Homeless Rights
Our firm has been engaged to help create The Western Regional Advocacy Project. The organization was created to solve the systemic crisis of massive homelessness by creating public policies which respect homeless peoples' human rights to housing, health care, treatment, employment, equity, and educational opportunities. The violation of poor and homeless peoples' civil rights is the flip side of the violation of their right to housing, health care, and employment. History has shown that to address massive social injustice and systematic civil rights violations, nothing short of a coordinated, broad based social movement will work. In order to build a powerful movement the national advocacy agenda must be connected to, driven by, and given political weight from grassroots organizing of poor and homeless people. As a regional organization, WRAP has the power of collective mobilization, while they do not become too diffused or disconnected from local communities. At the same time, they are actively working to build power with local allies across the country, and with national homeless advocacy organizations.

Viral Forecast
The Global Viral Forecasting Initiative is a non profit organization formed with the aid of this Firm, which hopes to monitor viruses worldwide, especially viruses transmitted between animals and humans by establishing a network of sites globally to monitor new diseases and obtain information regarding the spread of diseases. Each site utilizes local infrastructure and knowledge to communicate with the local community, particularly those that are highly exposed to zoonotic infections (animal diseases). These research sites study individuals who have regular close contact with animal fluids (e.g., hunters and butchers) and monitor the transfer of diseases between humans and animals. The organization hopes to utilize modeling and other methods to predict new disease outbreaks and pandemic based on the data they gather. The organization will also provide minimal healthcare to blood-drawing volunteers. Though their specific purpose is not to provide healthcare, they will provide education to hunters, butchers, farmers, etc. on how to handle animals and how to avoid blood-to-blood contact.
